Reflecting on EURYPAA in Glasgow
This summer, Glasgow proudly hosted the European Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous (EURYPAA) Convention, bringing together over 500 young people in recovery from across Europe and beyond.
On August 7th, Shona and I were honoured to attend a Civic Reception at Glasgow City Chambers, celebrating EURYPAA and the achievements of young people in recovery. The convention itself was a powerful and inspiring experience where we:
Learned how AA supports young people locally and across Europe.
Heard courageous personal stories of recovery and transformation.
Connected with a community showing that change is possible at any age.
Explored ways for groups supporting young people, mental health, and addiction recovery to collaborate.
With EURYPAA now concluded, the resources, recordings, and materials from the conference are available for anyone interested in learning more about AA, recovery, and supporting young people. You can access these resources and find out more about EURYPAA and Alcoholic Anonymous here: https://www.alcoholics-anonymous.org.uk/
Events like EURYPAA remind us that no one is ever too young to ask for help and no one has to face recovery alone.
