Ramesh Crowned Scottish Boxing Junior 75kg Champion

One of our amazing young people here at Inspire, Ramesh, has achieved an incredible milestone by being crowned Scottish Junior 75kg Champion at the Scottish Boxing Development Championships.

Ramesh’s hard work, dedication and natural talent have truly shone through as he competed against tough opponents from across Scotland. Despite facing many challenges in his life, Ramesh continues to prove that with determination and resilience, anything is possible. Everyone at Inspire could not be prouder of his remarkable success.

Originally from Afghanistan, Ramesh came to Scotland to build a better life and has been part of the Inspire family for over 2 years. Adjusting to a new country and entering the care system at a young age can be incredibly difficult, but Ramesh chose to channel his energy into sport, finding purpose, confidence and community through boxing.

He joined Sparta Boxing Academy, a Falkirk-based club and quickly rose through the Scottish ranks. At the Scottish Development Championships held at Ravenscraig, Ramesh’s dedication and training paid off in a spectacular way.

Ramesh faced two challenging matches on his way to victory. In his first bout, he met a skilled young boxer from Aberdeen who pushed him hard in the second round. Ramesh rose to the challenge, adjusting his approach and earning a unanimous decision from the judges. In the final match, he faced a strong contender from Edinburgh. Both fighters demonstrated great skill and determination, but Ramesh’s control, composure and power once again impressed the judges, securing another unanimous win and the championship title.

This victory proves that no matter your background, sport is for everyone. It not only helps us grow physically and mentally but also brings communities together and gives people a sense of belonging. We are incredibly proud of Ramesh’s achievements and wish him all the best in his future boxing career. We are certain the boxing world has not seen the last of him.
