About:

The Cottage is a thoughtfully designed residence located in the quiet and peaceful village of Thornton, nestled between Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes in the heart of Fife. Surrounded by local woodland and farmland to the rear, and overlooking a tranquil side street at the front, the home offers a perfect blend of rural charm and community connection. The property features a bright, open plan living and dining area which is an ideal space for socialising and spending time together. To the rear, a generously sized garden with a well-maintained grassy area provides ample room for outdoor play and sports activities. Each bedroom is uniquely decorated in bold, expressive colours that reflect the individuality and vibrant personalities of the young people who live there. The Cottage benefits from excellent access to a range of local amenities, including schools, libraries, shops, and leisure facilities. While enjoying a peaceful village setting, it remains well-connected: Kirkcaldy city centre is just a 20-minute drive away, and the area is served by nearby train stations and reliable bus routes.

Our Approach:

We focus on building trusting relationships, promoting emotional wellbeing, and supporting each young person to develop confidence, resilience, and life skills. Our team is dedicated to delivering child-centred care that meets individual needs and encourages personal growth. We specialise in assisting young people facing emotional, social, and behavioural challenges, creating a space where they can heal, grow, and build resilience. Whether a young person stays with us for a short-term placement, long-term care, or respite, we tailor our support to meet their individual needs and personal journey.
