Inspire is an award-winning residential care provider with 11 modern homes across central Scotland and northern England. Our dedicated staff, who are specialists in relational based practice, are ready to welcome a diversity of individual children and young people and whatever needs they may have.

We have residential care homes in settings from the rolling hills of the Campsie Fells and Perth and Kinross to peaceful suburbs of major cities. All are spacious and fully equipped with state of the art fittings and fixtures and have access to good transport links, and are designed to provide calm, supportive and secure environments where children and young people can start building or rebuilding their lives at a pace that’s right for them.

Most houses can accommodate between four and five young people and have dedicated, highly trained staff on hand providing 24-hour care and support, 365 days a year. Rooms are individually decorated, and young people are encouraged to personalise them to reflect their own personalities and interests. We champion participation and collaboration between our young people and carers, so that the home is an environment reflecting a family atmosphere.

Five years ago I made the decision to come to Inspire Scotland and have not regretted my decision since. I have been given great opportunities that otherwise I know I wouldn’t have had.

Management and staff promote inclusion, emotional and mental wellbeing, education and other opportunities. This approach is defined in the Inspire Pedagogy, which provides our caring professionals with a holistic and coherent framework of professional, personal and practical knowledge, skills and tools to deliver nothing but the best care. This is a framework that relates to existing practice, puts ethics first and helps make our services better.

Our services are therapeutic by design, based on attachment theory and trauma informed practice. We employ the support of a qualified mental health nurse and registered therapist to support our staff teams in formulating individualised care plans. In addition, we have strong links with the NHS and other partners able to provide specialist support. Our staff can also access training and support enabling them to be effective carers, ensuring that they are able to empathise with those who may have had adverse or traumatic experiences, and to help them to manage these and to ‘be the best they can be.'

Before, I felt like I had no future, but now I feel like anything is possible because of the help and support I get from my staff. They have given me more confidence in myself.
