We aim to deliver a diverse service that can adapt to the evolving needs of children and young people in our care, supporting them into independent living and equipping them with the skills and confidence to be successful in their adult lives.

Following on from residential care, where children and young people are encouraged to build trusting relationships with those who care for them, we try to support their transition from residential care to independent living utilising these relationships.

We have the option to source independent accommodation for young people and provide seamless support based on their personal care plan. Alternatively, an outreach service can be provided where Inspire supports young people within their own tenancy.

We also have supported independent living facilities available, which offer the opportunity for a young person to live within the community independently with varying levels of support based on their individual needs and abilities.

A social worker who oversaw the placement of a young person at one of Inspire’s houses recently gave us the following testimonial:

Despite the placement being difficult at times for K due to the distance from his family and friends, this has also been a safe place which has allowed K to reduce his risk taking behaviours and it is evident that staff’s commitment and persistence to K has had a positive impact on him as he has been able to visit his home town regularly, and not engage in any of his previous behaviours.

The House has restored K’s faith in residential placements, as he is now able to consider a transition into his new placement which is extremely positive and will hopefully start his new placement off in the right way.
